Death of Bodybuilding…
First and foremost, here is my opinion on the concept of professional bodybuilding. I think it’s a tough sport to do. You have to put your body through a lot of pain and push your body pass it’s limit constantly. Yes, it is believed that the athletes use steroids and other supplements to really be able to compete. But you still need to put the work in. It’s not easy.
What are steroids? To simplify it, it’s a helps a person with muscle recovery, strength and overall development. Steroids are illegal in all professional sports but bodybuilding. Bodybuilding does have a natural division for those that don’t want to use certain supplements to win.
Besides the advantages you have when taking steroids, there are those side effects. Don’t need to go over them, we should all know them for the most part. A woman, will develop more masculine features. A man more feminine features. Both, develop organ issues. The most important is the heart. Most if not all side effects really occur with prolong use.
This is where we begin. Because of prolong use the individual will build way more plaque in there arteries than someone that isn’t using steroids. Certain heart related issues are myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, ventricular fibrillation with exercise, atrial fibrillation and development of dilated cardiomyopathy. So there’s a lot to consider when choosing the steroid life.
The death of bodybuilders range from 32-52 years of age. To me that is alarming. Life is short as it is why shorten it. But these people decide to do it. It is their life and to them the glory of winning means more than anything. You can definitely look up who we’re unlucky to passed away or look up the ones that are “lucky” but having to do surgeries or be on certain medications or something to try and live a normal life. Like I said before these are ones that do prolonged use.
When it comes to steroids in my opinion, I personally wouldn’t do it. But when someone says I’m on steroids I do think of it as a compliment. Just for temporary glory and gains isn’t for me. Once you get off it, you go back to your “natural” size. But with prolong use the effects aren’t worth it to me and will last long after use. I’m definitely not against it in competitive bodybuilding because as along as all competitors know and it’s a fair playing field. In other sports, definitely not. Anyone using steroids just make sure you know what you are getting into. You only have one body and one life.
