The spot light…

Most people want the spot light or their 15 minutes of fame. I am sure not one of them. Growing up I was always shy and never liked to be in the front of the class to present my presentations or even to read out loud to the class. I would avoid it the best I can. I even remember one time writing a note to the teacher to let her know I won’t be able to talk today because I lost my voice.

Now I have little problems with public speaking but I still don’t like the spot light. When my clients thank me, I usually just tell them “no it was you, you did the work.” I feel like I don’t need a thank you, I am just grateful to be given the opportunity to help people.

So when it came to the photoshoot, needless to say I was really nervous. What helped a great deal was that the photographer, Yasmeen Anderson, was fantastic. She first asked what kind of trainer am I? Like am I a drill sergeant or more reserved. By knowing that she knew not to have me doing poses that I wouldn’t be comfortable doing or isn’t me. We talked a lot though and that made me feel more comfortable. So comfortable that I totally forgot to keep my “pump” going for the photos. In between each pose or shot was supposed to be doing push-ups and other exercises to keep my muscle pumped up. The photos still turned out great and it was a great experience.

I really wouldn’t mind doing it again. I feel like I work hard on my body and it was nice to show it off. You really have to get out of your comfort zone and live life to the fullest. Create experiences.
